She has a degree in Communication Design and a Master degree in Multimedia Art. Joana holds a PhD entitled “Illustration as process and thought. Authorship and interpretation.” She participated in conferences, seminars and exhibitions. In 1997, Joana Quental received an Honorable Mention in the National Contest for Children’s Illustration promoted by the IPLB and IBBY, and in 2012, the 1st Prize for the pastoral year 2012 Poster (Fátima Sanctuary). As a designer and illustrator, he has developed works with the publishers Campo das Letras, Porto Editora and Zero an Oito. Her main research interest are a communication of health to children, using an illustration.
